Bringing Yoga to the Public School Day
In all these years that I’ve been teaching, one of my main goals has been to bring yoga into the school day. When I taught in San Francisco all those years ago, I was lucky enough to teach at McKinley Elementary School through a program called California Pacific Medical Center Health Champions. It was a phenomenal program. I was able to go into the school during the day and teach first and second graders weekly. These photos were from parents night where we got to show off all the yoga they were learning. That was 10 years ago, so these kids are probably graduating high school right now! Sharing the LOVE – Through Peace, Joy & Kid’s Yoga Teacher Trainings~
Back in 2006 while I was still living in San Francisco, I had many people ask me if I could train them to teach yoga to kids. Surprisingly, there was not too many of us doing this work yet. So my friend Rosey and I decided to create our own 8 hour Kids Yoga Teacher Training. Fast forward to 2015, my Full of Joy Yoga Kids Yoga teacher training is now 20 hours with the hopes to increase it to 25 hours in the near future. It has been one of the biggest joys of my biz.
