As a former first grade teacher in the NYC public school system, I know what it’s like to try to teach over 20 kids how to read, write, do math, treat each other with kindness and everything else expected of teachers, all with very little outside help. The kids I taught came from a low income area of Brooklyn with little resources to help them succeed in the world. I struggled to get them to focus and sit still while also attempting to get them to reach the goals the system had set for them. Winter Warmer Sequence
Hi Everyone!As promised, I’m going to share with you a sequence I’ve been doing these last few weeks with the kids to help warm them up on these really cold winter days. It’s been so cold over here on the East Coast so it’s fun to teach kids ways to warm up naturally. These poses will be perfect for our first winter storm this weekend! Winter Warmer Yoga Poses Start by rubbing your hands together really fast to create warmth. Then put them over your eyes without touching them to feel the natural warmth over your face helping to warm you all over.
