Winter animals do many things to prepare for the cold. Some of them hibernate, some migrate, while others adapt. I created this class based on many other awesome winter animal lesson plans and books I’ve read and used throughout the years. Zephyr actually gave me most of my ideas based on what he learned about hibernating animals in school! On Being Flexible (and not just in body!)
Yes, I am working on becoming more flexible with my daily yoga practice, but in this post, I’m talking about flexibility of mind. Being ok when things don’t go your way. Able to just go-with-the-flow is something I am pretty good at, though this winter has been tough. Between the snow days, class cancellations, school closings, toddler tantrums and life in general, being flexible is the only way to get through it without going stir crazy. I had a stomping my feet moment the other day when our 8:55pm flight home from Florida was delayed until midnight (ok, yes, we were just in Florida). Hanging at the airport for 4 hours and then getting home at 4:00am was not part of my plan. Winter Warmer Sequence
Hi Everyone!As promised, I’m going to share with you a sequence I’ve been doing these last few weeks with the kids to help warm them up on these really cold winter days. It’s been so cold over here on the East Coast so it’s fun to teach kids ways to warm up naturally. These poses will be perfect for our first winter storm this weekend! Winter Warmer Yoga Poses Start by rubbing your hands together really fast to create warmth. Then put them over your eyes without touching them to feel the natural warmth over your face helping to warm you all over.
