What could possibly be a better way to spend an hour with your family then by doing yoga together? Over the years, I have taught so many variations of families. Now that I’m teaching family yoga with Zephyr, it’s one of my favorite ways to teach yoga. For those of you looking to start teaching some family yoga classes, or even find a teacher to do a class in your neck of the woods, here are some ideas: 1. Pick an organization and do the family yoga classes at a farmer’s market, yoga studio or school and do the class by donation! I’ve been giving to organizations like Africa Yoga Project and CitySeed. Rainbow Yoga!
This month my theme is Rainbow yoga. I love when I start a themed class at the beginning of a month and see how it evolves with all my classes. This sequence works great for a 20 or 30 min preschool class. 1) Breathing ball! I always love to start with the breathing ball– especially because it’s rainbow colored.2) Paint a rainbow – Glue your bottom to the mat. Raise one arm out to the side and reach it up over your head to paint a color of the rainbow over your head. Go back and forth from side to side. Let the kids call out the colors of course!Bringing arms behind you, hands on the floor, opening your heart, look up at your beautiful rainbow!3) Roly poly to your feet. What do we need in the sky to happen to make a rainbow? the sun and the rain of… Read More »

Hanging at the airport for 4 hours and then getting home at 4:00am was not part of my plan. Then I recognized that my 3 yr old was being so amazing, my husband Chris was totally fine and we just had a Florida vacay in… Read More »
