From Winter to Spring As we head into spring, our bodies and minds are ready for the warmth yet it’s still feeling like winter. Yesterday we had this surprise snow which was beautiful coming down, and then thankfully disappeared by the warmth of the afternoon. This sums up spring in the Northeast. I remember it was way more defined growing up in NJ- and April to me (my birthday month) was SPRING. These days, it’s just not how we remembered it to be, and now in this first week of April, it’s still only 40 degrees. That’s COLD. We still have our basket of hats, gloves, scarves in the hall. DIY Queen I was a self-professed DIY queen. The first 10 years of my business was spent doing everything. I did my own website, flyers, marketing, teaching, bookkeeping, my logo – you name it, I did it. It got to the point where I felt like a hamster, just spinning on the wheel and never getting anywhere, and I was TIRED. I couldn’t expand, progress or make any more money. When I started taking my biz yoga courses – most with Jodi Komitor of Next Generation Yoga & The Biz of Kids Yoga, I began to hire people to do the things that I just didn’t have time for or want to do myself. How Your Presence is the Best Present Ever!
It’s that time of year when when it’s all about buy buy buy and getting more stuff. Here’s are some great ideas for less stuff and being more present with your kids and loved ones. My partner in crime Jen of YoPlay Yoga 4 Kids & I created this list together based on what we have done with our families in the past. We know that kids begin to expect lots of toys during the holidays and sometimes it really gets to be STUFF OVERLOAD. Opening presents is a lot of fun, but sometimes we can replace THINGS with EXPERIENCES or something that requires you do things together to experience the actual gift.
