What could possibly be a better way to spend an hour with your family then by doing yoga together? Over the years, I have taught so many variations of families. Now that I’m teaching family yoga with Zephyr, it’s one of my favorite ways to teach yoga. For those of you looking to start teaching some family yoga classes, or even find a teacher to do a class in your neck of the woods, here are some ideas: 1. Pick an organization and do the family yoga classes at a farmer’s market, yoga studio or school and do the class by donation! I’ve been giving to organizations like Africa Yoga Project and CitySeed. Next June I will be traveling to Nairobi, Kenya with a group of yogis to do work that is very dear to my heart. This group I am now involved with is spearheaded by Jodi Komitor of Next Generation Yoga. Jodi trained me 9 years ago to teach yoga to children and has continued to be my friend and mentor. When she said she was taking a team to Kenya to share yoga with children, I immediately knew this was something I had to be a part of. Team Next Generation Yoga is committed to working with an organization called the Africa Yoga Project.
